With support from the State Government, Amazonas hosts Navegestic for the first time, one of the largest international Intermodal and Riverine Naval Logistics fairs. The event began on Tuesday (16/05), and continues until Thursday (18/05), at the Studio 5 Convention Center, South Zone of Manaus.
According to the executive secretary of Economic Development, of the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), Gustavo Igrejas, it is important for the State Government to support the sector and enable improvements in the region. Every year the fair takes place in Paraguay and brings together several companies, however, for the first time the companies meet in Manaus.
“This year they decided to hold the first fair here in Manaus, and it is receiving full support from the State Government, mainly due to the logic of dealing with important issues for our region such as the logistical issue of our waterways”, said the Executive Secretary.
The secretary highlighted that Governor Wilson Lima's administration has fostered a business environment that allows major events to be held in the State.
“We are going to deal a lot with attracting investments. This naval hub segment is quite strong and we believe it will be even more so. It is the State Government working to create opportunities to generate labor and investments for the region”, added Igrejas.
During the fair, the State Government has a stand to attract investments coordinated by Sedecti in partnership with the Amazonas State Tourism Company (Amazonastur) and the Amazonas State University (UEA). The activities are aimed at logistics companies, maritime agencies, ports and shipyards. In addition to Cargo agents, importers, exporters, customs agents, professionals, Chambers and Associations.
