Manaus – The State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti) of Amazonas believes that Navalshore Amazônia, in Manaus, will be extremely important for the region's naval industry, given its hydrographic characteristics.

The department's secretary, Pauderney Avelino, highlights that the segment has relevant potential, being fundamental to Amazon logistics, where several locations are only accessed through the river basin.

Navalshore Amazônia will take place at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, between May 24th and 26th, from 1pm to 8pm.

For the secretary, the fair will help suppliers and other companies in this supply chain set up shop to produce in Manaus, reducing costs and accessing this important market.

“The fair will strongly contribute to the creation of a shipping industry cluster, especially due to the tax incentives that exist here, available to be enjoyed by new investors,” said Avelino. He considers that the naval hub is very consolidated in the region and has enormous growth potential in the coming years.

Many suppliers of naval equipment — such as engines, propulsion and communication systems, specialized services for the naval industry, logistics and navigation — that will be present at the fair already have facilities or support structures in the North region. Navalshore Amazônia aims to contribute to the business development and potential of the Amazon river naval industry, in addition to proposing synergy with the maritime segment.

The fair will have suppliers from the naval industry focused on river transport and the logistics chain in Amazonas and other northern states, bringing together ships, shipyards, shipowners and port terminals.

Navalshore Amazônia is organized by Navalshore Organización de Eventos and its main partner is Portos e Navios magazine, a content provider and editorial reference for the maritime industry in Brazil, founded in 1958. This will be the first edition of the fair in Manaus. In Rio de Janeiro, Navalshore has been held since 2004 and is today the largest naval industry fair in South America.
