Taking an important step towards attractiveness within the nautical sector's production chain, the two main fairs in the river logistics segment, Navegistic Manaus and Navalshore Amazônia, come together to hold their events together next year. With the aim of sharing this initiative and inviting more companies in the sector to join.

The director of Navegistic, Wilson David Semeghini, highlighted the importance of the merger for the naval segment. He also highlighted investment within this market. “The merger between Navegistic Manaus and Navalshore Amazônia is of great importance for the represented sectors that make up the event, as it eliminates direct competition, allowing for more effective collaboration and a joint offer of services. Combining these two leading fairs into one will create a broader and more diverse platform to showcase industry-related products, technologies and services, as well as ensuring exceptional opportunities to establish strong business connections, engage with industry leaders and explore potential partnerships,” he said. .

The merger came about realizing the need and advantages of consolidating resources by creating a more solid joint offer for customers. “All of this can attract a broader and more diverse audience, increasing visibility and participation in the event. We saw that the merger of fairs can create cooperation between the sectors represented, which can result in commercial opportunities and stronger collaborations between participating companies”, he explained.

By coming together, the partnership brings advances and strengthens the market. “In a single fair, we avoid competing directly, which leads us to greater collaboration and concentration of efforts on improving the quality and experience offered to exhibitors. As for expectations and plans, they include growth in participation, improvements in the quality of the event and the establishment of strategic collaborations with other companies, associations or institutions to enrich the fair's offering”.

For fair representatives, the merger represents a milestone in the fairs and congresses sector.

With a focus on sectoral development, Navegistic Manaus and Navalshore Amazônia attracts influential professionals with high decision-making power, who during the three days of the event seek information and networking in the different niches of the intermodal industry, river logistics, nautical and agribusiness.

Fairs moved the local market

In May, Manaus hosted the first edition of the naval industry fairs Navalshore Amazônia and Navegistic Manaus. The fairs on river logistics and maritime business brought together several national and international companies.

The Navegistic Manaus international fair on river logistics took place between May 16th and 18th, 2023, at the Studio 5 Convention Center, located on Avenida Rodrigo Otávio, Distrito Industrial I neighborhood, South Zone of Manaus.

The experience sought to create links between organizations, people and professionals, to generate business, progress and development through networking tools. The production chain of the naval sector, whether those who work in the port area, on vessels or shipyards were the target audience. The event featured talks by representatives from various organizations.

“Navalshore Amazônia” took place between May 24th and 26th, 2023, in Vasco Vasques. The fair and conference have traditionally taken place in Rio de Janeiro since 2004.

Aimed at the river naval industry, the fair brought together manufacturers of engines, communication equipment and shipyards. Shipping companies, shipyards and ship parts suppliers were also present. During the fair, conferences and lectures were held.

Market potential

On the occasion, Marcos Godoy, director of Navalshore and Revista Portos e Navios, highlighted that the region's own logistical dynamics and the importance of the river as the main transport route drove the creation of a specific event for the Amazon.

“The Amazon region has its own logistics dynamics. Due to the fact that the river is the main road, the demand for floating means of transport is perennial. This is historic and led to the development of a powerful river industry, to serve both passenger and cargo transport,” he told Jornal do Commercio at the time.

Although the naval sector is already established in the region, there are challenges and demands that need to be discussed. With the development of Arco Norte and the continued growth of transport in the region, there is a growing demand for logistics solutions and investments in shipyards to increase productivity in a sustainable way. Naiming to boost the growth of shipyards, improve productivity and ensure logistical solutions aligned with the needs of the sector. With the event, we have the opportunity to bring together the main market players, share knowledge and promote the development of the naval industry in the Amazon.” Godoy highlighted.
